Introductions...

What should I tell you about me?...

Ummm, I'm a fine art student in my now sixth year of college after going from an architecture degree that I couldn't get a job with and I ended up not liking at the end there anyway; then I went super practical: real estate certificate. So I passed the test the first time (yay, I test well), got a job lined up, and then real estate took a nose dive and the broker changed and they only wanted someone who could work full time. Soooooooooo, I finally ended up in fine arts which I should have done right away rather than going for what seemed more practical at the time; this is one of the times I have to say I should have listened to my mother, who said, "Why don't you do fine art at college?"

But I got here eventually, and I think I would have been a really shallow and superficial artist right out of high school since I lived under a 'rock' as my boyfriend calls it (hey, it was a nice rock) and I used to be super intensely shy and introverted. I still am, but not nearly as bad, thanks to life experience (college, work, and just life).

One good thing about the extra schooling is I had time to explore art in different fields during that time, and that's how I discovered ceramics. My cousin had ceramics in high school and said that I should try it. I had my real estate classes and needed an extra class to be a full time student, so I took the beginner's ceramics class... and then the advanced one... and then I took it again. I think I've taken the class 5 times now, which sounds boring and repetitive, but the teacher lets us work on what we want to do, which is awesome.

So that's if for this intro...
